Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Smyrna, GA (On-site)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in Smyrna, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Match purchase orders and invoices for verification

  • Enter and code invoices into QuickBooks

  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire transfers

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain and organize digital and physical AP files

  • Assist with month-end closing processes and accruals

  • Generate reports in Excel for management as needed

  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing issues

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience is required

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
